Sanitary Sewer System

The Village is consistently exceeding our treatment capacity at the waste water treatment plant during rain events. This can only mean that groundwater is entering the system by sump pumps and downspouts being connected to the sanitary, or by cracks or breaks in the residential sewer leads and/or transmission mains. If you have a sump pump or downspouts connected to the sanitary sewer, please disconnect them immediately.

If the the village starts receiving fines for exceeding treatment capacity, the sewer rates will have to increase to cover the costs.
